Bronze is one of the most widely used material in sculpture. Over millennia, people have used it to create lifelike statues of prominent individuals. World over, there are famous bronze animal statues that bring out the artistry involved in creating this kind of sculptures. The following are some of the most interesting bronze creatures.
1. Zinneke Pis, Ville de Bruxelles, Belgium
If you have been to Ville de Bruxelles, Belgium, you must be acquainted with the Zinneke Pis statue which features a dog in a pee position. As one of the most famous bronze animals, the dog is famous for its cuteness.
2. Brown Dog Statue, London, England
The brown dog statue is found in London. The original statue, which has since been replaced, was created in 1903 by anti-vivisection activists who were protesting against the actions of a physiology professor. In 1910, the original statue was removed only for a new version of the original to be installed in 1985.
3. King Puck, Killorgin, Ireland
Every year, the residents of Killorgin Ireland have a festival known as Puck Fair festival. During the occasion, they have to drag a goat down the hills and install it as king of Killorgin for several days. Even though not a familiar statue to most people, the little bear in the bronze scaplture is world-famous. The soldiers raised the bear to become an official mascot. In later years, the animal found a home in a zoo in London. It was here that it inspired a son to A. A. Milne to create the character Winnie the Pooh. The statue represents the animal holding hands with a previous owner.

Hodge the cat is one of the world’s most popular bronze animals. It is depicted standing on a bronze dictionary. No wonder the real cat belonged to dictionary author Samuel Johnson. In the statue, the cat is seen standing on a bronze dictionary, next to some oysters.
6. Jim the Wonder Dog
Once upon a time, there lived Jim the wonder dog which is thought to have had the ability to understand English and make psychic predictions.
