At Canonbury Antiques we have a large range of mahogany Victorian dining tables. Mahogany is the favoured wood for these large extending Victorian dining tables as the red - brown tone and patina of the wood somehow seems to match the solid and chunky look to the table.
The classic Victorian dining table will extend working off a leaf system - so you can add (or subtract) - extra leaves to make the table bigger or smaller according to your needs. Of course the bigger configurations of these dining tables makes them great for large scale dinner parties when you need to comfortably seat more guests. Please read our guide to how the leaf system on these tables works. They also make great tables for executive board rooms. Our biggest tables go up to 16 feet - we can also make bigger tables if needs be with a custom order so just let us know what you are looking for and we can take care of it.

Our range of mahogany Victorian dining tables are hand made here in England to centuries old traditions and our hence built to last, making them great heirlooms and investments. The classic look is big and chunky with large hand turned legs - often on brass castors - making the tables easy to move around. They often work off a leaf sytem and here's a video guide to how this functions:
The leaf system will work of a wind up mechanism so you can expand the table by turning the handle at the end which will make the table large off the giant metal spindle internal to the mechanism then you can drop the extra leafs in - the large tables can have 3 - 4 extra leaves. Typically each leaf will measure 24 inches on average.
