At Canonbury Antiques we have a large range of Victorian tables and chairs if you are looking for that high end dining set up.

Victorian Tables and Chairs

Nothing beats the elegance and quality to these dining sets perfect for large scale dinner parties and for achieving that high end interiors look. We have a whole range of different table and chair combinations in various woods including mahogany and walnut so you can find exactly what you are looking for.

The classic Victorian tables and chairs set up would be in mahogany with an extending table that works of a leaf system. Our range of Victorian dining tables all work of the leaf system whereby you can extend the table to make it bigger (or smaller) via the wind out mechanism which operates from one end of the table. Wind it out to extend it and then you can drop the extra leaves in - perfect for when you are hosting large scale dinner parties and need to seat more guests. These tables also make for great executive boardroom tables - some of them can extend up to sixteen feet.

We can even custom make these Victorian tables to a bigger size if required, we have worked on many custom projects with interior designers accommodating their exact specifications. How many people do you need to seat? Just let us know. Maybe you have a large castle or chateau that requires more seats than your normal run of the mill table. Our custom made projects on Victorian tables and chairs are hand made here in England to centuries old traditions by skilled master craftsmen, hence they are built to last and make a great investment. They can also be a great family heirloom as they are passed down from generation to generation as they should be. In an era of mass produced throwaway rubbish, why not invest in something hand made of the highest quality.

Many of these Victorian tables and chairs are on display in our Hertfordshire antiques showroom so please get in touch for an appointment. Nothing beats sitting at them to try them out for size and comfort before you make your investment. You can try all the different combination of chair and tables out to find exactly the right one. Of course the classic set up would include the Victorian balloon back chair if you are going for that classic Victorian look alongside the table with the classic solid and chunky look, accenuated by the bulbous legs. The tables are also on brass castors which makes them easy to move around on the floor when extending or making smaller.

We do also carry some Victorian tables and chairs in walnut if you are looking for a different wood. One of our favourites is the Victorian walnut dining table with marquetry inlay. This table would go well with Queen Anne, Regency, Trafalgar or William IV dining chairs which you can try out to find the right dining set. Of course if the look is too chunky you also opt for our extensive range of Regency tables and chairs, particularly the tables are a bit more refined and well suited to contemporary interiors. Similarly, our range of refectory table dining sets in oak are popular as these are a bit more hardy and can withstand the knocks and scrapes of daily use from a busy family (normally with young children).
