The British Pounds has slumped to a record low against the US Dollar. At the time of writing (September 27 2022) £1 = $1.07, the lowest at his been since 1985. For some this is bad news - for others, mainly our American customers, it is good news as we accept payments in US Dollars and the new rate allows for great savings. The Pound has also slid against the Euro so this will also offer savings to our European clientele.

The infographic above illustrates the point by taking the example of a tapestry that costs £1500. At the 2016 exchange rate the tapestry would cost $2235. Today with the new rate the tapestry would cost $1605 - offering a massive saving.
Ever since the results of the 2016 referendum to leave the European Union were in favour of Britain removing ties to the EU the Great British Pound has slid in value and become weaker. The latest decline came after Kwasi Kwarteng, the Chancellor of the Exchequer or the chief finance minister of the UK, announced further tax cuts in his mini-budget which made the markets nervous.
