We lead with this cracking pair of Italian Grand Tour bronze and marble urns. Of classic campana form, the bronze urns have wonderful friezes in relief depicting Bacchanalian revelry involving cherubs and of course the God of wine himself - by special request - Bacchus making a guest appearance (being fed grapes). The gilt mounts are also original and include a bust of Bacchus on the handles. Standing on the salmon pink pedestal bases we date this museum quality pair to circa 1880. Prego!
This week - considering our long term tendency to 'go big' - we've decided to feature some smaller pieces which (if you are UK based) we can SHIP FOR FREE as a special offer. Clients based in the rest of the world we can certainly help with shipping costs so please get in touch if anything is of interest. Have a great weekend :)
