These items are always popular - and for good reason, they are full of character and highly practical. This hand carved oak settle - or monks bench - is in the Renaissance Revival style and dated to circa 1800. The top lifts to reveal oodles of storage room and these work really well in hallways and you can throw everything - wellies, brollies, shoes, boots, beer, canes, shopping etc - under the seat and forget about it. Just look at the quality of the carving with various panels in relief and distinctive creature - dog? - handles. They don't make em like this anymore...
We have a classic fox hunting oil painting in below - this would look great above the bench above (note to self - 'rephotograph this with that look, or sneakily use AI for same affect'). Happy Wednesday friends :)
