Dear Valley, having in thy face a smile Though peaceful, full of gladness. Thou art pleased, Pleased with thy crags and woody steeps, thy Lake, Its one green island and its winding shores William Wordsworth - 'Home at Grasmere' (1800)
Of all the Romantic poets who wandered the lofty peaks, vales and crags of the Lake District for me it was William Wordsworth who was the most evocative of the regions beauty. Please also find above a delightful Victorian 1880 landscape painting from the Lakes which is equally evocative in visual form. I can smell the mulch, feel the babbling brook and hear the moos of the cows over yonder.
I was just interviewed on the excellent Grappling Growth podcast and you can watch the episode below on YouTube. The main theme was the journey - starting in the early Noughties (now a lifetime ago) - from a strictly bricks and mortar outfit to a present day multi-channel fully online e-commerce brand. And what a journey it's been. Back then if you'd have said we'd be selling goods to customers all over the world who probably found us via their mobile phones I would have laughed and thought you mad. Have a great week ;)
