At over ten feet wide - 330 CM - this really is a large piece
At the bottom there is an inscription which when translated reads - defeat of the Spanish army near the canal of Bruges by the French troops of Louis XIV MDC LXVII (1667)
This tapestry - as is often common - is based on the original painting by Charles Le Brun (French) 1619-1690
Great details as the horse riders in the foreground survey the battle ground in the background
The scene is bordered by a floral motif border
