This is a pair of blue and white porcelain table lamps, styled in the Chinese export / chinoiserie tradition Classic Chinese ginger urn form and have been converted to table lamps Each lamp is formed from a baluster-shaped porcelain vase, decorated in classic cobalt blue on a white ground with dragon and scrolling cloud motifs, interspersed with floral bands and formal borders around the shoulder and base The decoration closely echoes designs seen on Qing-style Chinese porcelain, adapted here for decorative lighting The vases are mounted on circular hardwood bases, and fitted with electrical mounts.
