Pair of elegant Chinese blue and white porcelain table lamps of classic baluster form Porcelain is in the classic Nanking style
Each lamp is beautifully decorated in underglaze cobalt with finely painted fish swimming amongst lotus blooms, scrolling foliage and stylised aquatic motifs
A radiating fan pattern adorns the shoulder, while a scrolling key fret border encircles the neck, adding structure to the flowing composition
These are currently wired for the UK market but can be adapted for other countries The crisp blue decoration contrasts strikingly against the creamy white ground
Mounted on turned hardwood bases with matching circular wooden caps and brass stems, the lamps are finished with generous off-white drum shades, giving them a clean and contemporary silhouette while retaining their traditional decorative charm
