Elegant antique late Regency mahogany drum table featuring a circular top with a beautifully figured mahogany surface and a finely carved rope-twist moulded edge
Circa 1820
Bought from a private house sale in London's Mayfair
The frieze is fitted with drawers and opposing dummy drawers with turned wooden handles, a traditional feature of drum tables designed for use in the centre of a room
The table stands on a substantial turned central pedestal raised on four shaped sabre legs terminating in small bun feet, providing a stable and well-balanced form
