Piece Description

Late Regency mahogany writing table - or perhaps side table - with a serpentine front fitted with five drawers arranged around a central kneehole
The mahogany is the plumb pudding variety
The piece stands on elegant square tapering legs terminating in brass castors, with decorative fan spandrels to the kneehole corners and turned drawer handles
Bought from a private house sale in London's Fitzrovia
The top displays well figured mahogany with a rich warm patina, making this a refined early 19th century English writing table
Circa Date 1820
