Bronze Fountains

Due to the ability to resist corrosion, bronze fountains are strong enough to last for generations to come. It is all thanks to the characteristics of bronze as a metal. Traditionally, bronze is an alloy of copper, lead, and other noble metals in small amounts. In history, bronze has been used to make ornaments, weapons, as well as tool. Among its characteristics, bronze has a relatively low melting point, which makes it easier to work with using sources of heat such as charcoal. The composition of copper in bronze is about 90 percent, compared to only 10 percent of tin.

One of the reasons for bronze fountains is that they are strong and tough all at the same time. When still new, bronze fountains assume the colour of salmon. As it continues to interact with the elements, it forms an outer coat or patina, which prevents it from further corrosion. The colour of the patina can be anything between dark brown and lime green. While the patina is mostly naturally occurring, it could also be developed in the foundry before the bronze fountain is delivered to you. The only conditions that would promote the quick corrosion of bronze fountains is the presence of chlorine or sulphur.

When making bronze fountains, additions are made of attractive features such as giant tortoises, spitting eagles, leaping dolphins, and mermaids. All these can withstand the ravages of the elements and remain in good shape for generations to come. Due to their durability and enduring elegance, bronze fountains are necessary additions to all forms of outdoor gardens.

So what are the reasons for adding bronze fountains in your garden? Read on.

1. Increasing Aesthetic Appeal

For once, increasing the aesthetic appeal of your outdoor space is the top-most reason for a fountain. Say, you have a patio complete with a kitchen or grill. To give the perfect backdrop to your outdoor parties, you definitely need to install one or two bronze fountains. If you can, arrange a set of tables and chairs around the water feature. That will create the perfect setting for that occasional cocktail.

2. Adding a Focal Point
If your lawn has been featuring a plain look despite all the efforts you make to maintain it, then a set of bronze fountains can help create a focal point around which everything else can coalesce. Picture that probable anniversary or wedding of one of the family member. Having some bronze fountains creates focal points that make the occasion to be even more special. It may not be dramatic but it provides just the perfect background for a photo session.

3. Increasing the Value of Your Home
If you are planning to sell your home anytime in the future, you can help to increase its value by installing some bronze fountains. If you get potential buyers who appreciate a beautiful garden, you might end up selling at a higher price sooner than you would have hoped. The change in the value of the home may not even be comparable with the cost of installing the bronze fountain. It could be much more.

As you can see, bronze fountains are great for installation right there in your garden. Why don’t you seriously think about implementing it?
