With our ever encroaching slide to technology and all of us being constantly glued to our screens, the Arts and Crafts movement seems an apt ethos to adhere to today. After all, it emerged in the 1880s as a reaction against industrialisation and the mechanisation of society and as such can be seen as 'anti-tech'. That suits me, I hate how our lives are being consumed by cell phones, AI and digital sludge (acknowledging this missiv is being delivered via email and read on a screen). We've just acquired some lovely Arts and Crafts pieces - leading with the gorgeous oak carved server above - hence this is the theme of this week's newsletter.
I particularly also like the pair of Arts and Crafts oak bookcases below, very utilitarian and well crafted. Another fave are the pair of pedestal stands, perfect for the artsy and crafty aficionado. Have a great weekend :)
