They don't make em like they used to. I believe this truism / cliché stands up when you look at this feat of cabinet making excellence in the shape of this Dutch marqeutry display cabinet. Of exaggerated bombe form, the piece is furnished on every surface with intricate floral inlay - the Dutch marquetry trademark. The process is very time consuming in combination with hand carved details like the lions paw feet and of course the bombe form which also requires high levels of craftsmanship. A museum quality work of art that would explode any room.
