We lead with this wonderful Grand Tour 19th Century marble bust of Julius Caesar. The Grand Tour was the 17th and 18th Century tradition of British aristocrats travelling through Europe - typically Italy - to learn about antiquity, the classics and Renaissance art. On these educational trips they would pick up curios and antiquities - much like this wonderful museum quality marble bust above.
Below - aside from Latest Acquisition highlights - we carry on by taking a look at the wonderful John Soane s Museum in London which is well worth a visit if you have a spare afternoon in London. Soane is often considered the world s first interior designer and his neo-classical home is a veritable cabinet of curiosities.
We hope August is treating you well and that you are staying safe and healthy :)
