'Remembrance, like a candle, burns brightest at Christmastime' (Charles Dickens 1812-1870)
It's common knowledge that a lot of ideas and imagery of Christmas can be traced back to Dickens and the Victorian era. Hence we've - largely - dedicated this weeks missiv to Victoriana. Dickens is still entirely relevant today as his themes of exploitation and social inequality are still - perhaps more than ever - sadly widespread in our age. So take a seat in your sooty parlour as the candle flickers and take a pew around this stand out extending walnut dining table that can seat 20 souls and would be ideal for a large Christmas luncheon.
Also, being Londoners, Dickens was perhaps the greatest chronicler of the social mores and fabric of our beloved city. Hence take a seat in your parlour chair, admire the tapestry and enjoy a strong gin served from the silverplate butlers tray. It's beginning to look a lot like...etc etc
