“Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember; involve me and I will understand.”
- Confucius (c. 551 – c. 479 BCE), born Kong Qiu
The kids are back at school, routines have been re-established and we're striding confidently into 2024. The break was great but I'm learning I'm an ADD afflicted creature of comfort and I'mn glad things are back to normal. Hence we're leading with something different this week in the form of a large bronze Chinese temple burner. With the body of a turtle and the head of a Chinese dragon, the creature supports a crane - is the crane doing yoga? - which houses the temple burning pot. I am not a scholar of Chinese myth and imagery so I am afraid I am unable to communicate the exact meaning of the symbolism. But as a quirky collectable conversation piece, this certainly fits the bill.
Have a great week wherever you are and please get in touch if you have any questions or would like a shipping quote :)
