A guéridon is a mobile serving table, often ornate and equipped for on-the-spot food preparation or presentation. The term originates from French, meaning "little guardian" or "waiter." Typically adorned with decorative elements, guéridons were popular during the 19th and early 20th centuries, symbolizing luxury and elegance in dining. These tables often feature a central burner, allowing chefs to finish or prepare dishes tableside, enhancing the dining experience. Commonly used in fine dining establishments, a guéridon adds a touch of theatricality to the service, showcasing culinary skills and providing a personalized dining encounter for patrons. PH
