At Canonbury Antiques we carry a range of Adams furniture and antiques. The Adams style - the work of brothers Robert, James and William can be described as neo-classical in look and aesthetics, hence making it great for contemporary interiors. They worked out of Scotland in the late 18th Century (1760 to 1792) and their influence still reverberates today. Hallmarks of Adams antiques and furniture include the use of satinwood and mahogany, gilding and painting and classical references such as fluted legs, symmetrical designs and an overall refined asethetic. If you would like to view any of the Adams style antiques in our Canonbury Antiques Hertfordshire showroom please get in touch for an appointment.
