At Canonbury Antiques we carry a range of Continental Antiques which are one of our specialities. We are particularly interested in French antiques and furniture including Louis XVI, Empire, Napoleon II and Directoire. Much of our range of continental antiques are on display in our Hertfordshire antiques showroom which is just 25 minutes north of London in the leafy Herts countryside. When it comes to the history of antiques, France perhaps has the most infuential role to play globally in establishing cabinet making and techniques to an art form. Hence we are particuraly fond of pieces such as antique bureau plats, bombe commodes, Boulle furniture, Bureau do Roi, secretaires, Bureau de Dames and bookcases, alongside our range of antique clocks and bronzes. The antiques markets in Paris at Les Puces are one of our favourite places to visit to source goods.
